Join Eddie Davis, Public Historian for Durham's Sesquicentennial, for a presentation on how Durham residents influenced the integration of NC State, UNC-Chapel Hill, and Duke Universities. Mr. Davis will lead discussion on the efforts of: Thomas Hocutt and Pauli Murray in the 1930s; the McKissick v. Carmichael case that led to the integration of the UNC Law School in 1950; and the Hillside High School students who were among the inaugural undergraduate classes that included African Americans at UNC in 1955, NC State in 1956, and Duke in 1963.

South Regional Library opened in 2010 to replace the Parkwood Branch of the Durham County Library. This 27,300 sq ft building offers meeting space, public computers, free WiFi, and access to printing and fax services.
