The documentary film Scared of Revolution focuses on the life challenges of Last Poet Umar Bin Hassan.

The Last Poets, a group of performance poets who expressed the progressive spirit of the times starting in the late 1960s, were a major influence on later Hip Hop artists. This documentary film, sponsored in collaboration with UNC's Sonja Haynes Stone Center, focuses on the trials and tribulations in the life of Last Poet Umar Bin Hassan.

About the branch

Stanford L. Warren Library orginally opened in 1940 as the new home of the historic Durham Colored Library. The annex was added in 1949-1950, and renovations occurred in 1968, 1984-1985 and 2004-2006. At 10,244 sq ft, the library features free wireless interet access, public computers, printing services, and meeting space.
